A former barn with magnificent views over a river valley, this single-storey property is perfect for a small family or two couples looking to explore an exquisite part of North Wales. Sleeping four guests in two twin rooms and welcoming a couple of furry pups too, you can explore the footpaths of the 220-acre farm or just relax in your enclosed garden and start the BBQ.
As you enter the property, you’re immediately welcomed into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you can hang your coats and start to get a feel for the place. To one side is the pretty kitchen with its wooden cupboard storage, dog bowls and everything you’ll need to cook filling breakfasts prior to adventures or soothing suppers after a long day out walking. Share these meals at the chunky wooden dining table and chairs before moving over to the lounge area to relax on the pair of two-seater sofas. Pop a DVD on and watch the TV or just marvel at the valley views through the sliding doors. You can see the garden from here too – an enclosed patio with views of rolling countryside. Take your morning coffee out here and perch on the picnic bench a while. Heading back inside, there are two pleasant twin rooms and a shower room to share.
Just 3 miles away is Wales’ largest natural lake and the beautiful town of Bala. Stop here if you love to get out onto the water to enjoy water sports, or even if you just love a stroll around a lake. There is also a good number of shops, pubs and cafes in the town to spend an afternoon or two browsing. The adrenaline junkies in the group will be spoilt for choice with the National White Water Centre, Zip World Slate Caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog, King Arthur’s Labyrinth and the mountain bike trail centre at Coed-y-Brenin all on offer (all within 30 miles). For something a bit more leisurely, try the golf course 5 miles away.
