Dolgellau cottages

The historic market town of Dolgellau is possibly one of the most beautiful places to stay in Eryri / Snowdonia and we have a lovely collection of holiday cottages in Dolgellau for you to explore. Steeped in history, signs of the once successful woollen industry are evident all around the narrow streets and squares, including in old mills, winch-hoods and elegant houses. Pop into the pretty stone-fronted shops and restaurants too during your Dolgellau cottage holiday. Perhaps, even have a day out at Cymer Abbey and stop off for a cream tea before heading back to your cosy holiday cottage in Gwynedd.

A great base to explore the many exciting trails across Eryri / Snowdonia National Park, the town is also 33 miles from the holiday resort of Aberystwyth. The Snowdonia National Park Authority maintains three paths up the mountain - Pony Path from Ty-Nant, the Minffordd Path and the Llanfihangel y Pennant Path. Cadair Idris mountain near Dolgellau is 2,930ft (893m) high with magnificent views from the summit of Pen y Gader towards the Mawddach estuary and Cardigan Bay. Dolgellau is not only beautiful but interesting too. Full of history, it is the perfect place from which to explore the rest of Wales, treat your Dolgellau accommodation as your base while getting out and about. A great place to stay for climbers and walkers, it is also popular with mountain bikers who hurtle along the flat Mawddach Trail to the pretty seaside town of Barmouth. Coed-y-Brenin was the first forest to be developed for mountain biking and is still the sport's premier location. Surrounded by stunning scenery in Eryri / Snowdonia National Park, with superb views of mountains and to the coast, it is located 8 miles north of Dolgellau.

Staying in one of our cottages in Dolgellau gives you the perfect base to not only lose yourself in a traditional Welsh town but also to explore the rest of the region including the dramatic castles and the beautiful national park. Our Welsh cottages are the perfect retreat to return to at the end of a busy day and to relax in on lazy afternoons.
