Visit Caldey Island

Small and steeped in history and natural beauty, Caldey Island is home to a community of Cistercian monks who maintain a peaceful and contemplative lifestyle; it’s a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of mainland life. 

The island's history stretches back centuries to the Celtic era, and the Cistercian monks, who have resided on the island since 1929, continue the tradition of a simple, monastic life, producing chocolate, shortbread and perfume that are sold in the island's shop.  

You can reach the island via a short boat trip from Tenby Harbour, and the journey itself offers stunning views of Tenby's coastline and the surrounding sea. Once on land, visitors can explore a variety of attractions like the iconic Caldey Lighthouse which perches on the island's highest point and offers panoramic views of the coastline and Bristol Channel.

Tudor Merchants House

Manor Wildlife Park

Tap & Tân Tenby

The Lifeboat Tavern

Most famous, however, is their enormous Lighthouse Burger, which you can have for free if you eat it within 10 minutes!
