Holiday cottages in Lampeter

Lampeter is a pretty riverside town that’s perfect for a getaway to West Wales. It’s known as being the smallest university town in the UK with a population of less than 3,000; outside of Oxford and Cambridge, Saint David's University College is the oldest degree-awarding institution in England and Wales. One of the most famous places to visit in Lampeter is the Norman castle of Pont Steffan which occupied a strategic position beside the River Teifi; it was destroyed in 1187 and the remains of the castle later became the foundations for a college building that still forms part of the university campus. In the 18th century, Lampeter was an important gathering place for the drovers who gathered herds of cattle and sheep to be walked all the way to the markets of southeast England. Today, it is still an agricultural centre and farmers’ markets are held on alternate Fridays – the perfect place to pick up some local ingredients if you want to self-cater in your Lampeter holiday cottage. The town is also a great base for holidays near Ceredigion – the sparkling Ceredigion Bay is only 13 miles away where you can swim in the sea and even spot pods of dolphins!

Lampeter is a great place for a holiday packed with variety, and we have a range of Lampeter cottages that make the perfect base for your next adventure. Choose Lampeter accommodation for couples, families, or groups, with cottages to suit every party size.
