Prestatyn holiday accommodation

Prestatyn is a seaside resort located north-east of Rhyl in Denbighshire. Primarily a fishing village for hundreds of years, the town's population remained at less than 1,000 until the arrival of the railways and the holidaymakers in the 19th century. "Sunny Prestatyn" became famous for its beach, clean seas and promenade entertainers, and visiting for a bathe was considered very healthy by city-dwelling Victorians. The town is located at the northern end of the Offa's Dyke Path and is on the Wales Coast Path, so is a handy stopping point for keen walkers. In fact, in 2007, it was the first Welsh town to be designated a ‘Walkers are Welcome’ town. It’s also the ideal location for a traditional seaside family holiday – a long, sandy beach, ice creams and amusements, as well as plenty of natural beauty.

Our Prestatyn holiday cottages lend themselves to fun-filled breaks with the kids, romantic retreats for couples and getaways with friends. Choose the perfect base for your North Wales holiday and make the most of this wonderful part of the country. You might want to time your visit to coincide with the fabulous Prestatyn Carnival in the summer or choose a quieter time of year when you can fully appreciate the surrounding area’s beauty. So browse our self-catering holiday homes in Prestatyn or our full collection of Denbighshire cottages for ideas for your next holiday in Wales.
