Self-catering accommodation in Bala
Our Bala holiday cottages are set in a small market town in the heart of Eryri / Snowdonia which lies at the north end of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), the largest natural lake in Wales. Bala is well-known internationally for white water rafting on the Afon Tryweryn, and the National Whitewater Centre is based near Bala.
There's plenty to see and do both in and around Bala, with the town a hub of activity, particularly for those keen to try the many walking trails around the lake and into the nearby hills. The Bala Lake Railway runs for 4.5 miles from Llanuwchllyn to the edge of the town, and there are some great cycle routes running around the lake and the surrounding hills catering for those who are just seeking a leisurely ride, mountain bike enthusiasts and everyone in between. Our Bala cottages are also a great base for your Eryri / Snowdonia holiday if you love watersports, as all manner of boating and canoeing can be enjoyed on Lake Bala.
Whichever activity you choose to embark on in this beautiful corner of Gwynedd, you're guaranteed a wonderful place to rest a weary head with our hand-picked accommodation in Bala. Whether you're after a cosy cottage for two, group accommodation, a dog-retreat or a hilltop hideaway, our self-catering cottages in Bala offer something for everyone and some of the finest holiday homes in Wales. We also have a larger collection of North Wales holiday cottages slightly further afield for more options.
