Rhossili

Rhossili Bay is the crown jewel of the Gower Peninsula; this beautiful Gower beach presents a breathtaking expanse of golden sands stretching for 3 miles beneath dramatic cliffs. It's a haven for walkers, photographers and anyone seeking a serene escape.  

The beach is accessible via a steep path from the village, which may be challenging for some, but the panoramic views are well worth the effort. Dog lovers will also be pleased to know that Rhossili Bay is dog-friendly all year, making it a perfect spot for a seaside stroll with your canine companion. 

Caswell

The family-friendly beach at Caswell Bay nestles between lush, wooded cliffs, offering a safe and sandy haven for swimmers and sunbathers alike and a uniquely beautiful setting. With easy access, ample parking and nearby cafes, it's an ideal spot for a relaxed day by the sea. 

This is also a popular beach for water sports, with surfing, kayaking and SUP being popular activities thanks to the sheltered bay. Llangennith

Llangennith Beach is yet another surfer's paradise amongst our pick of Gower Peninsula beaches, renowned for its consistent waves and expansive sands. Llangennith is backed by rolling dunes, which also makes it a favourite for walkers and those seeking a more charming coastal experience.  

With the bay stretching 3 miles, it’s no wonder families also flock to its golden sands to enjoy frolicking, bathing and building sandcastles. As it offers spectacular views too, the backdrop provides plenty of photo opportunities – memories to take home with you.   

Langland

A traditional bucket-and-spade beach, Langland Bay combines natural beauty with Victorian charm. Featuring a promenade lined with beach huts and a selection of cafes, it's popular with families and those looking for a beach with family-friendly facilities close by.  

Also well known as a Gower surfing hotspot, sheltered Langland Bay makes it a winner for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to enjoy the local water sports scene with plenty of conveniences nearby, including great transport links. 

Port Eynon

The beach at Port Eynon is set within the traditional seaside village and boasts a wide, sandy beach nearly a mile long, perfect for families and water sports enthusiasts.  

Sheltered, safe and with conveniences nearby, it offers families classic bucket-and-spade appeal, making it one of the Gower Peninsula’s most popular beaches. Explore the rock pools, play in the dunes, or simply look across to the endless horizon; it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing beach day. 

Pwll Du

Ready for an outdoor adventure? Pwll Du Bay is a hidden gem perfect for nature lovers, especially walkers. Accessible only by footpaths – which helps preserve its tranquil atmosphere – this pretty beach is surrounded by cliffs and woodland; it's a peaceful spot favoured by walkers and those seeking solitude. 

The beach is also dog-friendly year-round, making it the perfect choice for walkies with your beloved hound. A mix of pebble and sand, there’s plenty of exciting smells for Rover to sniff out and lots of sticks washed up on the shore. A scenic spot for a slow-paced break. 

Oxwich

A very popular beach in Gower; Oxwich Bay offers a vast stretch of golden sand backed by dunes and woodland, providing a diverse playground for visitors. If you’re looking for a quiet beach, this isn’t the place for you; the spectacular setting presents plenty of opportunity for a range of activities, including swimming, sailing and walking. More recently, it’s become popular with jet skiers, so you do have to be mindful of this when bathing. 

Oxwich Bay is well equipped for a full day of beach fun; facilities such as shops, cafes and equipment rental for various water sports activities are available, and the beach is easily accessible. Tor Bay

Another remote and tranquil paradise for walkers, Tor Bay is a secluded beach nestled between cliffs, offering a peaceful retreat for those willing to make the trek. Accessible only by foot, it's a much quieter alternative to some of the more popular beaches.  

The walk from Penmaen Village takes about 20 minutes, and with no restrictions for dogs, you can bring your pup along for the trek too. Those chasing sunsets and stunning vistas should walk out onto Great Tor for incredible views across the Bristol Channel. 

Three Cliffs  

Undoubtedly one of the best beaches in the Gower Peninsula, famed for the iconic limestone cliffs that give the beach its name, Three Cliffs Bay is a favourite amongst nature lovers and photographers. It’s known for its wild scenery, featuring sand dunes, salt marshes and the Pennard Pill stream that trickles through the beach.  

For even more impact, access the sand via the scenic Wales Coast Path and be sure to bring Rover along too; dogs are welcome on the sand at Three Cliffs Bay throughout the year. The walk to Three Cliffs is one of our top walks on the Gower Peninsula.

Pobbles

Scenic and secluded, Pobbles Bay is a small, sandy cove that's perfect for those seeking a peaceful beach experience. Accessible only by foot, it offers a sense of privacy away from the hubbub of high season; it is ideal for picnics, peaceful relaxation and walks with the dog.  

There are no facilities near the beach, but this only adds to its charm. Pack a picnic blanket and a book, and enjoy the views across Oxwich Bay.
