North East Wales - Mountain Biking

The Mynydd Hiraethog area comprises Clocaenog Forest, Llyn Brenig and Alwen reservoirs and Denbigh moors, offering varied and rugged experiences from twisting forest roads to lakeshore tracks and bridleways on the exposed moors. Great views, too, with Snowdonia to the west and the Clwydian range to the east. There is a Visitor Centre at Llyn Brenig.

Coed Llandegla

The purpose-built Mountain Biking Centre at Coed Llandegla, 7 miles west of Wrexham, has rapidly proved extremely popular since opening in summer 2005, providing bikers with a range of facilities. The forest has picturesque walking trails, beginner and family mountain bike trails, and challenging trails for more experienced riders, over a total of 650 hectares.
